Midweek Racing Preview: Wednesday 8/6/16

It's a very wet day all around the country for this Wednesday's racing action and as it gets deeper in to the winter racing season it just keeps getting more difficult to find winners. As such, we will be posting a lower number of selections at each meeting, but the ones we do post will be high confidence bets.

The track is rated a Soft (6) at the time of writing with rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so a downgrade would not surprise. The rail is out +4m the entire course.

Race 5 1511m Carbine Club SA SABOIS Fillies & Mares BM64 Handicap

No age restriction. BenchMark 64. Fillies and Mares. Handicap.

Correct Call's last two wins have been very impressive, both on rain affected going. The most recent of those was at this track over 1200m where she settled back in the field and ran home strongly to score in what was a pretty soft victory. She didn't get clear running until the 100m and the 1.7L margin of victory was pretty flattering for her opposition. The step up in trip here looks to suit. She goes up 2kg and will carry 59.5kg here but that shouldn't stop her. Sassy Jo looks the main danger and could be hard to get past if they let Neilson dictate from the front.
