The racing comes to us from Caulfield and Rosehill on Saturday. Both cards look difficult, especially Rosehill now the Championships are over and the races are becoming more open. Caulfield will host the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes over 1100m with a handy field engaged. Outside of that the races look even and competitive.

Caulfield

The track was rated a Soft (5) as of Friday night but an upgrade before or during the day wouldn't surprise. The rail is out 12m the entire circuit, so you'd think you would need to be near the front turning for home.

Race 2 1000m The Gran Hotel Frankston Handicap

Three-Years-Old and Upwards. BenchMark 78. Fillies and Mares. Handicap.

The speed looks to be plentiful, and it all comes from out wide. Petite's Reward, Refuse To Lose, Magnagem, Unique Storm and Matilda Bird should be among those vying for the lead. Grey Street and Hotel Sierra should lob behind those. See how the track plays in Race 1, but a strong on pace bias wouldn't shock with the rail position and how the track played last time they raced here, where there was a fast lane about 3-5 metres off the rail.

I've got Grey Street on top here and I'm very confident about it. She was good behind Brockhoff at The Valley early in her prep in between two good wins. She was then beaten a head Stellar Collision (Stakes winner since) and beat home Viddora (beat Miss Gunpowder in Adelaide). She was good again beaten 4.5L to Super Cash in the Moomba and then split Petits Filous (looks a very good horse) and Jalan Jalan (2nd to Miss Promiscuity, beating the Quarterback) here last time out. Her form lines are simply stronger than the rest of these. 56.5kg, an in form Ben Melham and a good draw in barrier 8 puts her up to her ears in this.

Pilly's Wish ran some great races last time in in stronger company than this and is a danger. She ran 2nd to Tawteen in a Fillies & Mares BM90 and was only 2.1L off Fell Swoop (Now multiple G1 placed) in the Chandler McLeod at Moonee Valley. 2 of her 4 career wins have been 1st up, she draws kindly in 6 and gets in with 58.5kg with the claim for Ben Allen who is riding in hot form.

Solar Duchess has put 2 wins in a row together in this grade. She's freshened up here and seems to race well on the fresh side. This is tougher than her recent tasks though and must carry 61kg. Hotel Sierra was 2nd to Solar Duchess two back and then ran a good 2nd to Well Sprung last time. She's ultra consistent.

Petite's Reward boasts a win over Heatherly. That horse is G1 placed since.

Advice: $2.80 looks quite good for Grey Street considering her form. Back her and include her in your multi's.

Rosehill

The track was rated a Good (4) as of Friday night but there is rain forecast for Saturday so be prepared for that to change. The rail is in the true position.

Race 4 1500m TAB Highway Handicap

Three-Years-Old and Upwards. Class 2. No sex restriction. Handicap.

Speed from Galaxy Warrior and Svavarsson. Exitozo and Sumitro should be handy from the inside barriers and Miss Tickles may press on from out wide. The speed looks moderate.

Going with Galaxy Warrior clearly on top in this. He ran well on debut at 1200, before stepping to the 1400m and giving them a touch up to the tune of 3.8L to break his Maiden status. He then went to Orange in a Class 1 and settled 2nd before taking over before the home turn and putting his rivals away to win by 6L, running very sharp time in the process. He will carry 57kg after Samantha Clenton's claim and should get a comfortable run on pace in this.

Oh So Unfair also won a Class 1 over 1600m last start, albeit considerably slower than the top pick. He looks to have some ability. Allzin is 2/23 but ran okay first up and should be competitive. Exitozo seems to mix his form but his win over 1400m last time out was good. There are a few other chances but I can't see them troubling the favourite.

Advice: Galaxy Warrior to win and win well. Predicting a pain free watch (I hope).
