It's a long weekend and Friday Night footy is upon us, and it looks to be an absolute cracker! The Hawks are looking to solidify their place in the top tier of the competition and the Crows are starting to make people wake up and take notice. This should be a high pressure and exciting contest from start to finish!

Hawthorn v Adelaide, MCG, Friday 7:20pm

Head To Head: Hawthorn $1.38 - Adelaide $3.15

Line: 21.5 $1.92

Both teams are 3-1 coming in to this contest with Hawthorn winning the last 5 between these two teams dating back to 2012.

This Adelaide team is a bit different from the last couple of years though. They are scoring at will so far this season, averaging 120 points a game. Their forward line looks to be one of the most potent in the league, with Taylor Walker, Josh Jenkins, Eddie Betts and Tom Lynch all playing fantastic football. Their only loss this season came against North Melbourne in round 1, and the Roos are making that loss look better each week. They beat Sydney in Adelaide last week in a super game of football, standing up under intense pressure all game.

Hawthorn have just been going so far this year. After a defeat at the hands of Geelong in Round 1 they've won 3 in a row, defeating the Eagles impressively at the MCG and then two wins by less than a goal to hard running, attacking teams in the Bulldogs and St Kilda. Those two games were at Etihad though and the Hawks seem to be on another level at the 'G. Sam Mitchell has been on fire this season, racking up no less than 30 touches in each game including 44 disposals last week.

Hawthorn have looked vulnerable against teams that take the game on and run from half back, such as the Dogs and the Saints. However, they still know how to win and they play the MCG better than anyone else. The Crows have looked super in moving the ball quickly and with increased efficiency under coach Don Pyke. The win against Sydney was fantastic and they look to have gone to another level and have arguably the most dangerous forward line in the competition.

Sam Mitchell AFL Fantasy Score Over

As arguably the most inform player in the competition, Sam Mitchell is playing like an alien that feasts on the leather for survival. He is in some absurd form with scores of 124, 146 (both at MCG), 117 and 130. Dating back to 2009, Mitchell has loved playing the crows with uber-consistent fantasy scores of 111, 112, 123, 95, 91, 91, 103, 93 and 106. Combine this with his incredible record at the MCG and it appears he is due for another huge night on Friday night. In addition to this already compelling case for a huge score from Mitchell, the Crows have given up some mammoth scores this year to other accumulators such as Daniel Hannebery (132), Brandon Ellis (144), Bachar Houli (140) and Robbie Gray (127). Its hard to see Mitchell slowing down this week.
