Sandown Hillside

Soft (5). Rail true.

Race 3

1600m. Three-Years-Old and Upwards. BenchMark 78. Fillies and Mares. Handicap.

Amarela ($4.20) ran 3rd last time out at 1400m in the Gold Bracelet to Written/Atlantis Dream, coming from 11th at the 400m on a day where it was tough to make ground. This was after finishing 4.95L off Tuscan Sling/Azkadellia 1st up and 4.05L to the same quinella 2nd up when settling back in the field both times. She gets to the mile today where she is 2:1-0-1 boasting a 3rd to Miss Rose de Lago in Group 3 company in the Spring. Carries 57kg after Ben Thompson's claim.

Thinking Of You ($3.50) is 3rd up this preparation after two solid efforts in her first two back from a spell. She was beaten 0.4L to Fast Cash last start when coming from well back in the field. Her only try at 1600m so far in her 12 start career was 3rd in the Group 1 Flight Stakes, beaten 4.3L by First Seal and 3L to Winx - that's good enough for this! Draws a tricky gate and has to carry 58.5kg.

Redasun ($5) is again 3rd up this time in. 1st up she was 2nd to the flying French Emotion over 1400m here (where she is 2:1-1-0). 2nd up she was beaten 5.15L in the 1600m Group 3 Matron Stakes. Willing to forgive that plain effort. Her overall record at the mile (4:2-1-0) is fantastic.

Holy Cow ($3.90) is the one that is under the odds for mine. She was only beaten 4.7L in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes last start but she seems to reserve her best for Moonee Valley.

Bets: 1 unit win Amarela.

Race 8

2400m. No age restriction. BenchMark 70. No sex restriction. Handicap.

Tintaglia ($4.20) was a dominant winner last start over 2400m in a BM64 on the Lakeside track, making it two wins in a row. She draws 1 today, so providing the inside is playing fairly she should get the gun run.

Our Bazaar ($10) is the danger for mine. He hasn't been beaten far in two good form races at this past two. Blinkers go back on again but will have to carry 60kg after Dunn's claim and draws barrier 10. Can see him being ready to fire 4th up in his first Australian preparation.

Bets: 1 unit win Tintaglia. 0.25 unit e/w Our Bazaar.

Gawler

Good (4). Rail true.

Race 3

1500m. Three-Years-Old. Maiden. No sex restriction. Set Weights.

With the Tony McEvoy first starter Dollar For Dollar ($8) here. He is by High Chaparral so the 1500m shouldn't be an issue. He's had four trials, the last of which was a nice 2nd over 1000m. Is out of a good race mare and a win on debut wouldn't surprise.

Vintage Grove and Damocles are the dangers if the top pick doesn't perform. The former has run three placings this time in and is knocking at the door and beat Damocles home the last time they met.

Bets: 1 unit win Dollar For Dollar.

Race 8

1700m. Coopers Pale Ale BM64. Handicap. Heat 6 of Provincial Super Series.

The Peter Blanch trained filly Dashebo ($2.60) should be winning here and moving on to better things. Dom Tourneur rides and she only has to carry 54kg. Her last two runs have been super from back in the field in much better company than this. She may have won last time out in town if not for getting strung up in traffic 600m from home. 1700m should suit. Has barrier 12 to contend with but should be way too good.

Bets: 2 unit win Dashebo
